A Perfect Minimalist Elegant and Mid-Century Home

Which corner is your favorite?

The interior design which draws from the building’s architectural heritage is a perfect combination of contemporary modern mixed with minimalist elegance and mid-century glamour. Throughout the house the limestone tiled floors pulls it all perfectly together and gives it the extra warmth it needs. I really love the toned-down aesthetic and muted color palette of the décor, while the grander gestures like the swooping staircase that leads to the bedrooms upstairs, the stone hearth in the living room, and the free-standing, claw-foot tub in the master bathroom is just the icing on the cake.

I am not even sure which corner I like best, but I could easily see myself sitting at that desk. Do you recognise it? Hint: It’s Danish design.

In Darling Point, a harbourside eastern suburb of Sydney, Australia you’ll find this project; an alteration and addition of an existing Victorian cottage. Designed for a young family of five by local practice Alexander & CO.
